EYEBROW & BRAZILIAN WAXING

Before

  • Let it grow! Nix the clippers or the razor – both create big stubble trouble!  Razors cut the hair off leaving the thickest point and making it harder for the wax to grab. You’ll get the best results with hair that is at least ¼ inches in length or with 7 to 10 days of growth (especially if you have been shaving).
  • Gently exfoliate your skin a few days before your appointment. This will speed up the waxing process and help combat those dreaded ingrown hairs.
  • Inform us of any medications you are taking, including Retin-A, Renova, Accutane, Differin or antibiotics. These all can increase the rate of exfoliation of your skin. If you wax while on one of these medications you could be chancing removing skin as well as hair.
  • Take a couple of Advil before your appointment as it can help with some of the discomfort.
  • Avoid caffeine prior to your visit and getting waxed during your menstrual cycle as both can make you more sensitive. Make sure you drink a lot of water the day of treatment as well, the more hydrated you are the easier it is for the hair to be removed.

During

  • Try to Relax
  • Dont forget to Breathe.
  • Think about Unicorns and Rainbows.
  • Remind yourself 'its Worth It!!'

After

  • CHEERS you did it!!!
  • Expect the skin to be a little sensitive and red after your first wax. Some experience no redness at all. Others are red for as little as thirty minutes, while those with sensitive skin can feel the effects up to 24-hours post-wax.
  • Avoid anything too hot like saunas, steam rooms and hot baths for at least 24 hours.
  • Avoid Exfoliants, scrubs, and loofahs for the first two days after your wax. This includes products that contain acids such as glycolic, salicylic and alpha-hydroxy. You can start your exfoliation routine about three days after your wax or when all the redness subsides. To learn more about the benefits of exfoliation, check out the skincare section of this website. Or click the EXFOLIATION button below.
  • Avoid tight pants or jeans. Opt for loose clothing such as sweats or a dress and cotton panties.
  • Don’t forget to use sun protection!
  • You survived, so reward yourself with a cupcake, chocolate, or some retail therapy. You might even share your new look with a loved one!
